From Penrith Railway Station, take a taxi or bus (x4 or x5), alighting at Stainton Lane End. Walk 100 metres along Fairybead Lane to arrive at Sunningdale on the right.
Leave M6 at junction 40, taking A66 West toward Keswick. Pass the Little Chef restaurant and continue straight on at the Rheged Discovery Centre Roundabout.
Continue along the A66 for approx 1 mile to the Newbiggin/Stainton crossroad.
Turn left into Fairybead Lane with Sunningdale 100 metres on the right.
Follow the Kirkstone Pass route to Ullswater, then follow the Dalemain and Penrith signs along the A592. Turn left into Stainton at the sign for the Alpaca Centre. Drive up the hill, past the school to Sunningdale about 1 km on the left.
Alternatively, follow the A591 to join the A66 at Keswick. Follow the A66 to the Newbiggin/Stainton crossroad. Turn right into Fairybead Lane with Sunningdale 100 metres on the right.
